About the Business
Working within the Perth district for over 14 years, our commitment is to promote safe and responsible attitudes towards driving and road safety by providing training in a structured manner, highlighting and focusing on defensive driving techniques required for everyday driving. We are members of both the Motor Schools and Driving Instructor Associations. We also adhere to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency – Code of Practice (voluntary) for Approved Driving Instructors.
At Mike’s School of Motoring, we guarantee that your driving tuition will be from an experienced high grade fully qualified “Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).” Instructors are carefully vetted and hold up to date Disclosure Scotland (enhanced) certificates.
We are the first driving school in Perth to be professionally recognized and awarded an Edexcel / BTEC Level 3 qualification (advanced award) in driver coaching and client-centered learning. Having this qualification allows us to provide you the most effective and up to date training methods currently available, meaning you usually require fewer lesson than standard.

Driving Lessons
Learning to drive can be stressful enough without the worry of having to learn in an older vehicle.
If the vehicle you’re learning it is old, it could potentially cause problems on the day of your test as your vehicle will be inspected before the test for road-worthiness. Even if it does pass this inspection there is always the possibility of the vehicle having a mechanical failure during your test which could result in a failure and you have to take your test again.
If you choose to take your lessons with Mike’s School of Motoring, the business always looks to replace vehicles every two years as each vehicle obviously spends a lot of time on the road. Additionally, our vehicles have air conditioning, power steering and dual controls for your comfort and safety.
